Williamsburg

Tim and I are thinking about planning a trip to Williamsburg in October. We are looking at King’s Creek Plantation. We’ve never been to Williamsburg so this will be new to us.

For all of you that have gone, do you know this resort? What are the costs of the daily passes? Any other info is much appreciated!!!

Thanks.

  1. Joe and I liked King’s Creek alot. The “apartments” were nice and the grounds were very clean and nice as well. If I remember correctly, the indoor pool wasn’t spectacular-but MUCH better than the at the other resort we stayed at.)A one day pass to the Historical Area with some limits (no tour of Governor’s Palace, etc..) $36, two day pass $49, year long pass (plus 50% off any evening performances) $59, kids under 6: free. You can look up all the info as far as prices, what to expect, the schedule for the week you want to go, etc… at http://www.colonialwilliamsburg.com .

  2. I don’t know King’s Creek at all, so I’m no help there!Do check out colonialwilliamsburg.com, like Stacie recommended, because it has all the info there. Also, when you get closer to your trip time, you may find they have some sort of “special” they’re offering as far as passes go. Last time we went, we got a pass that was around $40 and was good through the end of the year– so not quite the year-long pass, but a better deal than the 2-day pass. Because the actual touring is such a huge part of what we do, it’s worth it get the more expensive passes for us. (Our kids were all free, from what I recall.) Especially because then we never felt compelled to do a really looong day of touring. We would leave as soon as the kids were starting to “lose it” and just plan on going back the next day. It really depends on what you want, but if you think you’ll go more than 3 days, it’s obviously much better price-performance to get the year-long pass (or a special, if they have one).Just thinking about it is making me wish we could go, too. But I don’t think we’ll be planning any vacations for Oct this year. 🙂

  3. I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday with Dr. Fisch, I can’t believe that I am down to going once a week!! Anyway, it went well. He said the baby’s head is down and I’ve gained one more pound. He filled out all of my FMLA paperwork for Hoss’s so at least that is done and out of the way. Taegan is going to be a great big sister I think. She is so cute with Troy and wants to help with everything…A trip to Williamsburg sounds great. My sister-in-law lives about 45 minutes away from there. It will be nice for you guys to get away. Are you going to be the beach again this year?
